A BILL to amend and reenact section twenty-four, article four,
chapter forty-eight-a of the code of West Virginia, one
thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, relating to
continuation of the family law masters system.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That section twenty-four, article four, chapter forty-eight-a
of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one,
as amended, be amended an reenacted to read as follows:
ARTICLE 4. PROCEEDING BEFORE A MASTER.
§48A-4-24. Continuation of family law masters system.
After having conducted a performance and fiscal audit through
its joint committee on government operations, pursuant to article
ten, chapter four of this code, the Legislature hereby finds and
declares the family law masters system should be continued and
reestablished. Accordingly, notwithstanding the provisions of said article, the family law masters system shall continue to exist
until the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred ninety-five
ninety-nine, so that the joint committee on government operations
may monitor compliance by the family law masters system with the
recommendations of the performance audit.

(NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to continue the Family Law
Master System until July 1, 1999, pursuant to the provisions of the
West Virginia Sunset Law.
